The vocal score (plus the Libretto) of “Mark Twain’s - The Legend of Sagenfeld” is a work adapted from a short story of the same name by Mark Twain. This is one of many stories he composed for his own children. This work is suitable for performance by singers of all levels of training - professional and amateur alike.
The action takes place in various locations in the innocent and somewhat naive ‘Kingdom of Sagenfeld’, which is situated somewhere in Europe. The Time is sometime within the 18th and early 19th century.
This work was designed to be entertaining for all ages; being written (in the main), for an audience of children of ages ~8yo and above, plus their parents. We have tried to illustrate Mark Twain’s inimitable humour in a way that captures both young and old.
There is a relatively large cast, such that an amateur/school performance can include many participants.
