This Trio version of “Minstrel’s Air” was arranged from the original duet version by guitarist Peter Altmeier-Mort.
The melodic strength of the piece lies in the counterpoint between the guitars. The bass accompaniment reflects a rhythmic underpinning of the melody, much as drumming would be used in the medieval period. This should be played sotto voce so as not to overwhelm the intertwining melodic elements above it.
